Setting test defaults and clearing test data cache

Setting test default values

While testing your application services, you might need to provide an API key and, on some occasions, a Session token. Instead of entering these values to request header every time for each endpoint, you can define their default values. Using the default values, the Tester automatically adds the API key and the session token data to the request headers of the endpoints.

info

Default values are applied to the endpoints, which are tested after the specification of the default values. The default values are not applied to past tested endpoints. If you would like to apply default values to your old tested endpoints, you need to manually make changes or clear the test data cache for these endpoints or all endpoints.

To set the default values for the API key and the session token via the Test Panel, you need to navigate the Tester and select the menu button. In the dropdown menu, select Set default values. The Set default values dialog will be displayed. Select the API key and provide the session token in this dialog.

Clearing test data cache

The Tester automatically saves test input and test response data to your device's local cache for each test session. Sometimes you may want to clear the cache data of a specific test session or all test sessions. To clear the test data cache via the Tester, you need to navigate the Tester and select the menu button. In the dropdown menu, select 'Clear cache' to clear the currently selected test session data or select 'Clear all' to clear all test data for all sessions.
